Eu e o meu irmão começámos a nossa formação no FC Porto, apesar da minha infância ter sido passada na Ferraria. Desde que me lembro, joguei sempre no campo do Rio Tinto. Andávamos sempre em conjunto e eram cerca de 300m até ao campo da Ferraria, que era o único espaço para jogar futebol.
A sua mãe chegou a dizer que, a certa altura, não vos dava dinheiro para o autocarro que vos levava para o campo da Constituição, na esperança que perdessem a paixão pelo futebol. Essa história é muito curiosa…
É verdade (risos). Íamos os dois a pé, desde Rio Tinto até à Constituição. Havia dias em que chegávamos ao campo com a roupa toda molhada e depois do treino continuava molhada. Aconteceu muitas vezes, mas nunca pensámos em desistir, porque o nosso sonho sempre foi jogar futebol.
