A Associação Social Recreativa Cultural e Bem Fazer Vai Avante, de São Pedro da Cova, visitou de 20 a 22 de março e de 7 a 9 de abril, o Parlamento Europeu em Bruxelas a convite dos eurodeputados socialistas Edite Estrela e Luís Capoulas Santos. O Vivacidade acompanhou a primeira viagem à Bélgica e faz um balanço desta expedição cultural.
Pouco passava da meia noite de 20 de março e o grupo constituído por sete pessoas do Vai Avante já rumava à capital para apanhar o voo das 5h30 para uma outra capital, o centro europeu, Bruxelas.
Selma Sousa foi como representante dos utentes abrangidos pelo Rendimento Social de Inserção e foi a primeira a destacar-se pelo nervosismo em andar de avião e a ansiedade por conhecer Bruxelas. “É a primeira vez que vou a Bruxelas. Aquilo que espero é ter a oportunidade de conhecer o Parlamento e alguns dos elementos que fazem a articulação entre Portugal e o Parlamento Europeu. Quero também perceber um pouco, o importante papel que as IPSS podem ter na interação com o Parlamento Europeu. Este tipo de iniciativas são uma mais valia no sentido das IPSS terem também oportunidade de dar a conhecer o seu trabalho além fronteiras”, contou ao Vivacidade momentos antes de entrar no avião.
Encontro com Passos Coelho e chegada a Bruxelas
Se a viagem até à Bélgica já seria uma surpresa para a maior parte das pessoas do grupo, o encontro no avião com uma pessoa bastante conhecida por todos foi uma surpresa ainda maior. Por coincidência, o primeiro-ministro de Portugal, Pedro Passos Coelho, juntou-se no mesmo voo rumo a Bruxelas com a finalidade de participar numa reunião do Conselho Europeu. Na chegada à capital europeia, houve tempo ainda para uma fotografia com o chefe do Governo Português, para guardar para a prosperidade. A chegada ao centro nevrálgico da União Europeia foi calma mas rapidamente se partiu para o hotel onde o grupo iria ficar durante os três dias. No caminho, o Vai Avante teve oportunidade de conhecer 12 outras pessoas de diferentes pontos do país que se juntaram à comitiva, a convite de Edite Estrela.
