No dia 28 de junho, realizou-se a cerimónia de entrega de prémios do 31.º Concurso de Quadras Populares ao S. Pedro. O auditório da Junta de Freguesia de S. Pedro da Cova acolheu a cerimónia que distinguiu o trabalho de Armindo Costelha, emigrante na África do Sul.
Ausente da entrega de prémios, o vencedor foi representado pelo sobrinho, Diogo Cardoso, que recebeu o galardão das mãos de José Fernando Moreira, vereador da Câmara de Gondomar.
“Conhecendo o meu tio como conheço, vai ficar muito orgulhoso desta distinção. No ano passado tinha ganho uma menção honrosa e este ano conseguiu conquistar o primeiro lugar”, diz Diogo ao Vivacidade.

Na categoria sub-18, Daniela Cunha, 12 anos, foi a vencedora. A jovem sãopedrense já tinha participado em edições anteriores, mas a originalidade da quadra valeu-lhe o primeiro lugar. “Sinto-me muito contente com o primeiro lugar e tenho orgulho neste prémio”, afirma Daniela, que assina com o pseudónimo “Flor”.
Para a pequena autora a fraca adesão dos jovens ao concurso explica-se pela “preguiça em participar neste tipo de concurso”.
No total, na 31.ª edição do concurso foram apresentados 381 trabalhos, dos quais 350 foram da autoria de adultos e 31 da autoria de concorrentes sub-18. Participaram nas Quadras Populares ao S. Pedro 85 autores.
Concurso afirma-se “para além da freguesia e do concelho”
No final da cerimónia, Daniel Vieira, presidente da União das Freguesias de Fânzeres e S. Pedro da Cova era um homem satisfeito. O autarca confessou ao Vivacidade o “orgulho” que tem no concurso. “Esta edição teve mais participantes do que no ano anterior. Além disso, o primeiro classificado foi um autor da África do Sul o que prova uma afirmação para além da freguesia e do concelho”, refere.
Contudo, a fraca adesão dos mais jovens ao concurso não deixa de ser um problema “a ser resolvido”. “Ainda não conseguimos enraizar este concurso junto da população mais jovem. Ao valorizarmos esta falha queremos fazer também um apelo para melhorar esta situação nas próximas edições”, admite Daniel Vieira.
O autarca espera alargar o sucesso do concurso à freguesia de Fânzeres, com o Prémio Nacional de Poesia da Vila de Fânzeres.
