A Associação Social Recreativa Cultural e Bem Fazer Vai Avante inaugurou a comemoração do 52.º aniversário no dia 4 de setembro, com uma sessão solene seguida de uma noite de fados, na Escola de Tardariz.
O programa da comemoração do 52.º aniversário de uma das instituições mais ativas de Gondomar, arrancou no dia 4 de setembro, com uma sessão solene na Escola de Tardariz. Fernando Duarte, presidente da Associação Social Recreativa Cultural e Bem Fazer Vai Avante, foi o primeiro a discursar e recordou a importância da coletividade no concelho, pela “resposta dada” a várias famílias, idosos e crianças. “Atualmente lidamos diariamente com cerca de 1700 utentes, mas somos uma associação com futuro e temos um conjunto de associados e de dirigentes de luxo, com grande experiência nas áreas sociais”, disse Fernando Duarte.
O dirigente concluiu o discurso com um pedido formal: a criação de um centro de dia na Escola de Tardariz, aos representantes do executivo municipal, Aurora Vieira e José Fernando Moreira. A responsável pelo pelouro do Desenvolvimento do Potencial Humano, admitiu “estar atenta” à situação do Vai Avante e felicitou a associação pela capacidade de “traduzir os projetos inovadores em ações concretas”. Quanto à cedência da Escola de Tardariz à coletividade, Aurora Vieira não fez promessas, mas garantiu que o pedido “está a ser analisado” pela autarquia.
Ao contrário do habitual, este ano o Vai Avante decidiu não promover sócios honorários nem sócios beneméritos na sessão solene de aniversário. No entanto, Mário Gonçalves, presidente da Mesa da Assembleia Geral da associação, prometeu dar continuidade à promoção já no próximo ano.

Após a sessão solene realizou-se uma noite de fados, com atuações de Cristina Batista, Nelson Duarte, Alzira Afonso e Zé Carvalho. Nos dias 17 e 18 de outubro realiza-se o XXV Encontro de Dança, no Largo do Souto. A iniciativa encerra o programa de aniversário do Vai Avante.
