O areal de Zebreiros, localizado na margem do rio Douro, foi reconhecido pela Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente (APA) como praia fluvial, anunciou a autarquia, a 4 de fevereiro, em reunião pública do executivo municipal.
A Câmara de Gondomar tinha candidatado o areal de Zebreiros a “praia fluvial designada” em novembro do ano passado e a 14 de janeiro deste ano a APA comunicou a aprovação desta pretensão ao Município.
O anúncio foi feito por Marco Martins, presidente da Câmara Municipal de Gondomar, na reunião pública do executivo municipal, a 4 de fevereiro, na Junta de Freguesia de Covelo.
O autarca apontou que a zona será alvo de uma “intervenção” para que seja “preparada de uma melhor forma” para a próxima época balnear. Marco Martins não adiantou valores, mas a intervenção abrangerá a demolição de um bar ilegal localizado na zona e o reordenamento das acessibilidades. Aos jornalistas, Carlos Brás, vereador do Turismo e Património de Gondomar, explicou que a praia de Zebreiros foi alvo de “várias e regulares” análises à água, tendo um histórico de “bons resultados” anterior a 2014, o que terá impulsionado a decisão da APA.
O vereador estima que na próxima época balnear Zebreiros tenha três nadadores salvadores e infraestruturas de apoio de praia que poderão vir a ser concessionadas.
A Câmara de Gondomar vai agora focar os seus esforços junto da APA para também conseguir a designação do areal de Melres.
