Entre os dias 5 a 10 de junho, o espaço da antiga feira de Rio Tinto recebe a primeira edição do Rio Tinto em Festa, evento que substitui a habitual Festa da Cerveja.
Durante seis dias Rio Tinto vai ter música, festa, gastronomia e artesanato em destaque na primeira edição do Rio Tinto em Festa. O evento vem substituir a tradicional Festa da Cerveja realizada no espaço da antiga feira riotintense.
O grupo Som Livre Band vai inaugurar o Rio Tinto em Festa no dia 5 de junho, pelas 22h. No dia 6 é a vez da Banda Iniciadores subir ao palco, pelas 22h. O músico Paulo Ribeiro (ex-Bandalusa) e o conjunto Prata Latina sobem ao palco no terceiro dia do Rio Tinto em Festa. No dia 8 de junho a banda FZK e os Gristo Académico iniciam o espetáculo pelas 22h. Marcus Machado regressa à freguesia após o concerto da Gondomar Band, dia 9, pelas 21h30. A encerrar, a banda Union Salsera, atua no dia 10 de junho, pelas 21h30.
Paralelamente ao Rio Tinto em Festa vai realizar-se a 14ª edição da Feira de Artesanato. O recinto vai ser fechado e o custo da entrada é de um euro válido para os seis dias do evento.
Parte da receita angariada será entregue aos Bombeiros Voluntários da Areosa-Rio Tinto.
