No dia 9 de maio realizou-se o exercício “EXEDISPOR GDM 2015”, que decorreu em Gondomar e, em simultâneo, nos concelhos da Trofa, Lousada e Marco de Canaveses. O exercício recriou o grande incêndio florestal que, em 2006, cercou a freguesia de São Pedro da Cova.
Os incêndios florestais em São Pedro da Cova, em Foz do Sousa e Covelo levaram Marco Martins, presidente da Câmara Municipal de Gondomar, a declarar o estado de alerta para o Município e ainda a ativar o Plano Municipal de Emergência (PME) no âmbito do “EXEDISPOR CMG 2015”, exercício que visou ativar a Comissão Municipal de Proteção Civil e o Centro de Coordenação Operacional Municipal.
Após o PME ter sido ativado foram realizadas operações de socorro, desimpedimento de vias, divulgação de informações à imprensa, ações de evacuação de populações em risco e prestação de apoio psicológico para a população afetada.
O exercício, realizado em coordenação com o Comando Distrital de Operações de Socorro (CDOS) do Porto, integra a última fase de preparação para um Verão que, segundo os especialistas, poderá ser exigente e muito difícil para os bombeiros e unidades de Proteção Civil.
O simulacro recriou ainda uma conjugação de incidentes e o incêndio florestal que cercou a freguesia de São Pedro da Cova, em 2006.
