A Câmara Municipal de Gondomar e a Cooperativa de Solidariedade Social dos Povos de Gondomar assinaram, a 29 de abril, o contrato de cedência de seis espaços do Mercado da Areosa que prevê a criação de uma nova dinâmica naquela infraestrutura do concelho. A Cooperativa promete criar uma clínica social e um contact center que poderá empregar cerca de 60 pessoas numa fase inicial.
O Município formalizou a cedência de seis espaços do Mercado da Areosa à Cooperativa de Solidariedade dos Povos de Gondomar com o objetivo de trazer uma nova dinâmica e novos serviços ao espaço riotintense. Em discurso, Paulo Jorge Teixeira, presidente da direção da cooperativa, mostrou-se entusiasmado com o projeto apresentado para o local, que contempla a criação de uma clínica social no segundo piso, com serviços de clínica geral e consultas de especialidade a preços mais acessíveis, um balcão do cidadão, um contact center que poderá empregar cerca de 60 pessoas, formações para desempregados através de um protocolo celebrado com o IEFP e a criação de novos espaços de co-working. “Dinamizar este espaço só é possível com a envolvência das pessoas e dos comerciantes porque sem eles não vamos resolver os problemas. O nosso objetivo principal é trazer as pessoas de volta dentro de um mês”, afirmou Paulo Jorge Teixeira.
Marco Martins, presidente da Câmara Municipal de Gondomar, assumiu a necessidade de dinamizar o Mercado da Areosa, solução que demorou cerca de ano e meio a encontrar graças aos “procedimentos legais que a autarquia não podia ultrapassar”. “É preciso trazer a dinâmica que falta a este espaço. Estamos a preparar um concurso público para ultimar a concessão do estacionamento pago e temos que baixar os preços para tornar esta área mais atrativa”, referiu o autarca.
Autarquia e Cooperativa têm estratégia comum
Em entrevista ao Vivacidade, Marco Martins e Paulo Jorge Teixeira insistem na necessidade de “revitalizar o Mercado da Areosa”. O edil camarário destaca a solução encontrada “que vai de encontro ao projeto apresentado no programa eleitoral para o edifício e toda a zona comercial envolvente”.
“Em 2008, com a construção deste edifício a Areosa perdeu muito dinamismo e foi necessário arranjar um parceiro interessado em investir neste projeto. Através da cedência de espaços – que têm um período de carência de 11 meses – conseguimos corrigir este erro dramático do executivo anterior”, afirma Marco Martins.
Contudo, o autarca não esquece a praça do Mercado e espera ver concluída a construção de stands comerciais no exterior e uma cobertura no palco “até ao verão”.
O presidente da Câmara de Gondomar, espera garantir ainda uma nova concessão do estacionamento envolvente e tem como objetivo “baixar a tarifa e permitir um benefício para os clientes do Mercado da Areosa”.
Já Paulo Jorge Teixeira, da Cooperativa Povos de Gondomar, stra-se satisfeito com o contrato celebrado com o Município. O responsável pela cooperativa viu no Mercado “uma grande oportunidade” e decidiu avançar com a proposta que representa um investimento de cerca de 75 mil euros para “captar pessoas das áreas envolventes”.
“Contamos que o Mercado fique a funcionar em pleno até ao início do mês de junho. Vai ser feito um recrutamento no concelho para o contact center e vão começar as formações profissionais do IEFP. Entretanto a clínica poderá arrancar até ao dia 10 de junho e a Areosa Vintage Fair [ver caixa] já se realiza, todos os sábados”, conclui Paulo Jorge Teixeira.
