É a única mulher candidata à liderança do Governo português nas Legislativas 2015. Catarina Martins, porta-voz nacional do Bloco de Esquerda, mostra-se desiludida com os quatro anos da coligação PSD/CDS-PP e preocupada com o futuro do país. O Bloco, defende, vai continuar “comprometido na defesa dos portugueses”.

O Bloco de Esquerda tem como lema de campanha a ideia “Um País Não se Vende”. O país está vendido?

Temos tido Governos que vendem o país de várias formas. Nós não temos controlo sobre a rede energética nacional, os aeroportos, os transportes que foram construídos com o nosso investimento e feitos pelos nossos trabalhadores. Quando temos um Governo que diz sempre que sim ao Governo alemão, temos um Governo que sem personalidade. Podíamos ter possibilidades para criar uma vida com dignidade. Hoje o Centrão [PSD/CDS-PP e PS] do poder é o Centrão do negócio que deixa o interesse das pessoas de parte. O país está a vender o que construímos para o lucro de poucos.

Que balanço faz dos quatro anos de governação PSD/CDS-PP?

Nunca nenhum Governo fez a dívida aumentar tanto. A cada dia que passou foram destruídos 200 empregos. O Governo pode fazer os malabarismos que quiser com os números do emprego mas a verdade é que foram destruídos 400 mil postos de trabalho em quatro anos. A cada mês 10 mil pessoas emigraram. Ao todo, meio milhão teve de abandonar o país. Na sua maioria jovens. E um país sem gente é um país sem futuro. Este é o diagnóstico do que fez o Governo.

No entanto, estão outra vez com a história de que agora é que vai ser. Estamos conversados sobre o que tem feito a direita. Tem destruído a política e à falta de palavra juntou a negociata mais vil, as privatizações. Não há nada neste Governo que se aproveite.

O PS é a alternativa?

O Partido Socialista não é igual ao PSD/CDS-PP. Não fazemos essa comparação. No entanto, não podem ser esquecidas as responsabilidades do PS no estado em que está o país. Não esquecemos as PPP’s, as privatizações e outras medidas que não foram inventadas pela direita. O PS tem grandes responsabilidades em tudo isso. Chegados a este ponto, vemos que o PS assinou o Tratado Orçamental com o PSD e o CDS-PP, ou seja, comprometeu-se a dizer que a Angela Merkel pode continuar a ditar a austeridade no nosso país e na Europa. O PS não se apresenta como solução. No momento em que se fala de empate entre o PS e a coligação de direita, é bom que as pessoas percebam que não têm que escolher entre austeridade e austeridade. É por isso que dizemos que quem fica preocupado com o empate deve votar no Bloco de Esquerda.

O Bloco de Esquerda vai lutar por esse voto útil para ter mais força na Assembleia da República?

O perigo é termos um Parlamento controlado só por PSD/CDS-PP. Quem controla a austeridade não pode ficar com uma maioria que lhes permita continuar neste rumo.

Tem estado muito próxima do Bloco de Esquerda de Gondomar e desloca-se várias vezes ao concelho. O que a leva a visitar Gondomar com tanta frequência?

Gondomar tem tido mau uso dos dinheiros públicos. Não tem existido uma ponderação do acesso da população às tantas coisas boas do concelho. Não há uma política que permita o acesso ao rio, à cultura, ao lazer. Não existe sequer um ordenamento do território que mereça esse nome para dar qualidade de vida às pessoas. Em Gondomar há muitas contas por explicar e o BE tem estado atento. Além disso, há problemas ambientais graves, como é o caso do rio Tinto, que temos acompanhado de perto. A presença do BE em Gondomar prova que somos consistentes. Não dizemos uma coisa em Gondomar e outra no Parlamento. Um voto no BE é um voto comprometido na defesa dos portugueses.

Acha que o Governo tem sido correto com os gondomarenses? As medidas tomadas em relação aos resíduos perigosos de S. Pedro da Cova e a concessão por ajuste direto dos transportes públicos beneficiam os munícipes?

O problema dos resíduos de S. Pedro da Cova é dos assuntos que mais deve envergonhar o nosso país. A forma como as pessoas de S. Pedro da Cova são tratadas não é aceitável. Face ao conhecimento científico e tecnológico que existe num país democrático, não é admissível que o problema seja constantemente adiado. O Bloco de Esquerda e outros partidos associaram-se a essa causa, o problema é que vimos muitas promessas e passos muito tímidos para a resolução dos problemas.

Em relação às privatizações dos transportes públicos, julgo que as pessoas percebem e questionam a medida a um mês das eleições. Estamos a entregar empresas que valem milhões e onde circulam milhares de pessoas diariamente por ajuste direto a um privado. O investidor estrangeiro não vem para garantir o serviço público, vem para tirar o lucro.

Qual foi o momento que a fez despertar para a política?

Desde sempre tive intervenção política não partidária. No Bloco não existem jotas e as pessoas que assumem cargos neste partido são pessoas que vêm do ativismo político de várias áreas. Participei em lutas estudantis, fiz parte de movimentos pelo acesso à cultura por todo o país, estive presente em movimentos contra a precariedade e a minha experiência vem dessas lutas pela dignidade do trabalho e pelo acesso ao conhecimento.

Quais são as referências que a motivam diariamente?

É o facto de saber que as pessoas trabalham tanto e são tão generosas. É difícil ver pais e avós dispostos a dar tudo pelas gerações mais novas. Esse sacrifício tem que ser respeitado.
