A sexta edição da Medieval de Rio Tinto contou com a presença de 51 mil visitantes entre os dias 17 e 20 de setembro na Quinta das Freiras. O espaço riotintense regressou ao passado e deixou os visitantes rendidos aos encantos medievais, da gastronomia às danças e torneios da época. A Batalha de Rio Tinto foi o ponto alto da VI Medieval.
A viagem começou na Quinta das Freiras e só parou na Idade Média, época histórica de batalhas e conquistas, época da batalha que deu nome ao rio que percorre a cidade gondomarense, o rio Tinto. Nesta sexta edição a Medieval de Rio Tinto “consagrou-se e começou a integrar o circuito nacional das feiras medievais”, diz Nuno Fonseca, organizador do evento e presidente da Junta de Freguesia de Rio Tinto.
O autarca que, em parceria com a Associação Artística de Gondomar, (ARGO), organizou a VI Medieval de Rio Tinto mostrou-se satisfeito com a adesão do público e com as novidades apresentadas este ano. “O investimento (20 mil euros) foi amplamente compensado. Atingimos a marca das 51 mil visitas que ultrapassou as minhas expectativas pessoais e as da organização. No sábado quase atingimos o limite da capacidade máxima de circulação dentro do recinto, o que nos criou algumas preocupações. Só nesse dia estiveram mais de 30 mil pessoas na Quinta das Freiras”, afirma o presidente da Junta de Rio Tinto, em entrevista ao Vivacidade.
Segundo a organização, o sucesso desta edição atraiu visitantes fora do concelho e solidificou o evento na rota das feiras medievais nacionais. “Os aficionados das feiras medievais já nos visitam. Além disso, as pessoas que marcaram presença no recinto como feirantes ficaram amplamente satisfeitos e procuraram garantir a sua presença para a próxima edição”, refere Nuno Fonseca.
A Junta de Rio Tinto e a ARGO começam agora a pensar na sétima edição do evento e prometem “muitas surpresas” aos adeptos das recriações históricas.
Quanto à possibilidade de começar a cobrar a entrada na Medieval de Rio Tinto, Nuno Fonseca considera que a organização “não vai avançar por esse caminho enquanto tiver outras formas de arranjar receita”.
