O presidente da Câmara de Gondomar, Marco Martins, admitiu em reunião pública, realizada a 14 de outubro, em São Pedro da Cova, a importância de prolongar a linha de metro de Fânzeres até ao centro de Gondomar.
Em causa está uma extensão de 900 metros da atual linha “Laranja” do metro do Porto que liga a estação da Senhora da Hora, em Matosinhos, a Fânzeres. Para isso, Gondomar colocou em Plano Estratégico de Desenvolvimento Urbano (PEDU) mais uma estação, aceitando abdicar das verbas para outros projetos em função deste.
“É prematuro dizer se vai avançar ou não, mas o sinal que Gondomar deu, assim como a Maia e a Trofa deram, é de que abdicarão de parte da verba que lhe caberá no PEDU para fazer esta extensão. Isto em nada implica ou deve dificultar o outro projeto e a nossa reivindicação pela ligação até ao centro do concelho”, disse Marco Martins.
Para o autarca gondomarense, a medida possibilitaria aos gondomarenses ganhar “melhor mobilidade” num projeto que deverá envolver cerca de seis a sete milhões de euros. A Gondomar caberá abdicar de 15%, ou seja, disse o autarca, “cerca ou muito perto de um milhão de euros”.
A possível criação da estação da Carvalha terminaria com a necessidade dos utilizadores do metro percorrerem “mais de 15 minutos a pé” para fazer transbordo para outros transportes.
No entanto, Marco Martins promete não abdicar da “batalha de levar o metro até ao centro do concelho”.
