A Associação Social de Silveirinhos organizou, a 4 de dezembro, o III Seminário “Novos Olhares sobre a Deficiência e a Doença Mental”, no auditório do edifício da Junta de S. Pedro da Cova.
Inserido na III Semana da Pessoa com Deficiência e/ou Doença Mental, o III Seminário da Pessoa com Deficiência e/ou Doença Mental, organizado pela Associação Social de Silveirinhos (ARCSS), realizou-se no início deste mês no edifício da Junta de S. Pedro da Cova.
A associação organizou três painéis distintos para abordar os temas da educação, formação, inserção profissional e oportunidades para as pessoas com deficiência ou doença mental.
A sessão de abertura contou com a presença de Marco Martins, presidente da Câmara Municipal de Gondomar, Daniel Vieira, presidente da União de Freguesias de Fânzeres e S. Pedro da Cova, Cláudia Póvoas, presidente da ARCSS, Matilde Monteiro, diretora da ARCSS, e o Padre Fernando Rosas, da paróquia de S. Pedro da Cova.
Marco Martins marcou presença no início do seminário para anunciar um apoio financeiro da autarquia, após a cedência em regime de comodato da Escola Básica da Mó à Associação Social Silveirinhos, equipamento que foi totalmente vandalizado. “O trabalho realizado por esta associação é fundamental para o Município e por isso a autarquia decidiu ceder um apoio extraordinário de 16 mil euros para a associação realizar obras de remodelação naquele espaço”, comunicou o edil gondomarense.
Para Cláudia Póvoas, presidente da ARCSS, a verba disponibilizada pela autarquia será crucial “para dar melhores condições aos utentes da associação”.
“É importante sensibilizarmos a comunidade para o nosso trabalho”
Ao Vivacidade, a presidente da direção da Associação Social de Silveirinhos, caracteriza a III Semana da Pessoa com Deficiência e/ou Doença Mental como uma oportunidade de “mostrar um resumo de todas as atividades realizadas com os utentes”. “É importante sensibilizarmos a comunidade para o nosso trabalho e pareceu-nos importante realizar este seminário, em 2012, porque não existia nada até à data aqui em Gondomar”, refere a dirigente.
