Carlos Rodrigues está de saída do São Pedro da Cova. Cinco anos após assumir a presidência da direção do clube, o ex-árbitro lamenta a falta de apoios e aponta dificuldades financeiras graves que poderão pôr em causa a continuidade do clube. O atual mandato termina no dia 30 de junho.
O que o levou a decidir não recandidatar-se às próximas eleições do São Pedro da Cova?
Entendi que devia colocar um ponto final no meu percurso como presidente do clube porque há falta de apoio e grandes dificuldades financeiras. Esses são os principais motivos.
Quais são as principais dificuldades financeiras do clube?
Todos os meses temos valores avultados para pagar a eletricidade e a água. Além disso, o plantel sénior tem ajudas de custo de três meses por pagar. Julgo que o clube não tem capacidade para continuar a competir neste patamar e corre o risco de fechar as portas. Porém, importa referir que durante estes cinco anos o passivo do clube passou de 300 mil euros para 150 mil euros.
Há culpados para o São Pedro ter chegado a esta situação?
O clube foi mal gerido e foi vítima de várias penhoras. Só este ano é que consegui angariar verbas com a mudança dos direitos desportivos da Associação Desportiva para o Clube Desportivo. A Câmara também deu um apoio de cerca de 19 mil euros. Contudo, durante os quatro anos anteriores da minha direção foram só os sócios, cerca de 300, a suportar as despesas do clube. Julgo que as empresas da freguesia também poderiam fazer mais pelo São Pedro da Cova. A despesa mensal da associação é de cerca de seis mil euros por mês e as receitas que temos não cobrem essa despesa.
Os jogos em casa são uma ajuda ou um problema?
Um problema. Pagamos taxas elevadas à AF Porto e ainda temos que pagar a força policial. Há uma aparência de termos a bancada cheia mas quando fazemos as contas a receita não cobre a despesa.
O complexo desportivo pode ser a salvação do São Pedro da Cova?
O clube tem um património enorme mas não tem condições para o sustentar. A pior asneira que aconteceu a este clube foi ter abandonado o antigo campo e ter vindo para este estádio. O São Pedro da Cova devia ter vindo para o Estádio do Laranjal na condição da Câmara de Gondomar sustentar o clube, como sustenta o SC Rio Tinto, por exemplo. Este complexo deveria ser património da autarquia e não do clube.
Como viveu os últimos cinco anos na presidência do clube?
Foram cinco anos terríveis. Tive danos morais e patrimoniais que nunca irei recuperar. Neste momento estamos a lutar pela permanência na Divisão de Elite (confirmar) e tudo irei fazer para que o clube continue nesta divisão. Se o clube tiver que descer será uma fatalidade mas alguém tem que descer todos os anos.
Durante os últimos meses sentiu contestação dos adeptos?
Há boatos de que sou eu que não quero sair da presidência da direção, por isso vou provar a essas pessoas que estão enganadas. No meu primeiro ano de mandato já tinha a ideia de sair mas nunca apareceu ninguém para assumir a liderança e coube-me essa responsabilidade. O meu mandato atual acaba no dia 30 de junho e espero que as pessoas que andam a criticar-me tenham a capacidade de assumir-se.
Ainda não há alternativas à sua direção?
Não conheço nenhuma candidatura ou intenção de candidatura. O meu afastamento deve-se também a meia dúzia de pessoas que tentam destabilizar o clube, apesar de se dizerem adeptos do São Pedro da Cova.
Caso o convidassem para integrar uma lista alternativa estaria disponível para integrar um projeto alternativo?
Só se mudasse muita coisa até às eleições. Tenciono mesmo afastar-me da direção.
Gostaria de deixar a direção com a manutenção garantida?
Obviamente, esse é o principal objetivo. Já podíamos ter garantido a manutenção mas reconheço a dificuldade dos nossos atletas e a falta de motivação. Vou fazer tudo o que tenho ao meu alcance para manter o clube na Divisão de Elite.
O treinador Pedro Ferreira regressou ao clube após ter saído, ainda durante esta época. É a pessoa ideal para estes últimos desafios?
Julgo que sim. Vamos ter jogos difíceis e esperamos ter a manutenção já garantida no último jogo, quando defrontamos o Aliança de Gandra, que deverá ser campeão desta divisão.
