O Ginásio Clube de Valbom, equipa gondomarense de ténis de mesa, viveu este ano uma época de sonho, após as subidas de divisão das equipas A e B à 1ª e 2ª divisões nacionais.
O equipa sénior do Ginásio Clube de Valbom, formada pelos atletas Tiago Duarte, Hélder Fevereiro, Nuno Gonçalves, Ivo Marques e Pedro Figueiredo garantiu a presença na 1ª Divisão Nacional Masculina na próxima época.
A subida foi conquistada depois do Ginásio ter vencido a segunda fase da 2ª Divisão Nacional com duas vitórias frente à Associação de Amigos Ténis de Mesa da Região Centro e à União Sebastianente FC.
Contudo, as boas notícias não ficaram por aqui, tendo a equipa valboense garantido também a subida da equipa B à 2ª Divisão Nacional, cerca de um mês após a primeira conquista.
“Perseguimos este objetivo há vários anos, porque já estivemos muitos anos na 1ª divisão nacional. Nos últimos anos ficávamos sempre nos primeiros lugares da Zona Norte, mas na 2ª fase do campeonato acabávamos por não subir de divisão. Para surpresa da direção acabamos por conquistar a subida com uma equipa que esteve sempre confiante que isso iria acontecer”, afirma José Pereira, fundador e atual presidente da direção do Ginásio Clube de Valbom.
Sobre a subida de divisão da equipa B, o dirigente do clube admite ter começado a época “sem pretensões” mas mostra-se satisfeito pelo resultado alcançado por uma equipa composta por 12 atletas seniores que alternavam entre si, jogo a jogo.
No que diz respeito à próxima época, José Pereira aponta bateria à permanência na 1ª Divisão Nacional. “Não queremos um bilhete de ida e volta à 1ª Divisão. Temos uma equipa jovem, com pouca experiência na 1ª Divisão e precisamos de ter um jogador habituado a este nível competitivo. Vamos tentar procurar esse reforço através da contratação de um atleta internacional português”, garantiu ao nosso jornal.
O Ginásio Clube de Valbom tem atualmente cerca de 50 atletas inscritos no clube.
