Um grupo de voluntários de seis pessoas – atualmente, apenas quatro no ativo – iniciou, em 2016, a recuperação do percurso da antiga linha de Midões e dos Moinhos de Jancido, lugar de Foz do Sousa. O trilho é hoje procurado por centenas de visitantes.
Um grupo de amigos resolveu unir esforços e iniciar um processo de recuperação dos oito moinhos de Jancido, estruturas seculares que noutros tempos serviram para a produção de farinha de milho, tendo um funcionamento assente num formato cascata que tirava partido da linha de água do rio Sousa, que ali circula.
Tudo começou em outubro de 2016, graças aos preparativos para as Festas de Santo Ovídio. O grupo – inicialmente com seis pessoas, hoje com quatro –, composto por Paulo Campos, António Gonçalves, Manuel Sousa e Fernando Sousa, “começou por limpar um trilho e foi descobrindo um percurso ao longo dos oito moinhos”, recorda Paulo Campos ao nosso jornal.
“Temos vindo a recuperar este trajeto aos poucos. Sabemos que este é um espaço único e que estava ‘abandonado’. Felizmente conseguimos recuperar o percurso da antiga linha de Midões, que antigamente servia os interesses da exploração de ouro e volfrâmio, sobretudo nas décadas 20/30”, afirma o voluntário.
Hoje, tal como no início, o grupo continua a reunir-se todos os sábados para dar nova vida a este caminho, junto à antiga linha de Midões, e longe vão os tempos em que estas estruturas seculares se encontravam degradadas e cobertas por vegetação. Contudo, o objetivo passa ainda por colocar alguns moinhos em funcionamento, transformando o local num espaço atrativo e visitável.
Entretanto, os trilhos dos Moinhos de Jancido vão sendo visitados por milhares de pessoas ao longo do ano, tal como ocorreu este mês com a visita de um grupo do Curso Digital de Fotografia Avançado, promovido pela Câmara Municipal de Gondomar.
Os formandos deste curso administrado por Pedro Casal aproveitaram a oportunidade para se reencontrarem com a natureza, tirando partido dos conhecimentos adquiridos nas últimas sessões desta formação.
No próximo dia 7 de abril, o percurso dos Moinhos de Jancido recebe uma caminhada solidária cujo valor reverterá a favor da Comissão de Festas de Santo Ovídio.
Recorde-se que por estes trilhos passa ainda a prova desportiva Trail das Fardas.
