Face a mais uma descarga direta da ETAR de Gramido para o Rio Douro, o Município de Gondomar acaba de formalizar queixa à Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente (APA) e ao SEPNA (a brigada de Proteção da Natureza e do Ambiente da GNR) contra a empresa Águas de Gondomar por crime ambiental.
O Presidente do concelho de Gondomar, Marco Martins, demonstrou o seu desagrado pelo sucedido. Sobre a situação o autarca frisou o seguinte: “De imediato, mal fomos alertados, as equipas da Câmara foram ao local recolher amostras. Por instruções minhas, o vereador do ambiente formalizou queixa contra as Águas de Gondomar, junto da Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente e do SPENA! A Câmara também não deixará de aplicar as penalizações contratuais que estão previstas“.
Contactada pelo nosso jornal, a empresa Águas de Gondomar enviou o seguinte comunicado:
“Referente ao assunto referido, cumpre-nos prestar os seguintes esclarecimentos:
A ETAR de Gramido encontra-se devidamente licenciada pela APA/ARH e os processos de tratamento implementados têm permitido o cumprimento integral dos requisitos da referida licença, em termos de Valores Limite de Emissão (VLE) dos parâmetros de descarga fixados.
O tratamento de águas residuais da ETAR de Gramido assenta num processo biológico com lamas ativadas, que recorre a microrganismos para assegurar o respetivo tratamento. Em dias de chuva intensa, e períodos subsequentes, os elevados caudais provocam uma “lavagem” do sistema, arrastando parte das lamas ativadas (microrganismos) na descarga do efluente tratado.
É de ressalvar, no entanto, que apesar da presença destes flocos de biomassa o efluente se encontra límpido e tratado, conforme análises realizadas.
No local de descarga, e principalmente em momentos de alta maré quando se verifica menor escoamento de água no rio, estes flocos podem-se acumular na margem, dando um aspeto visual de grande quantidade de lama, mas que corresponde à acumulação progressiva de pequenos arrastamentos ocorridos ao longo dos períodos acima referidos.
Assim, e relativamente à situação de uma suposta “descarga direta” para o Rio Douro reiteramos não se ter verificado qualquer ocorrência de descarga, extraordinária, de esgoto não tratado.
A empresa Águas de Gondomar, SA, enquanto concessionária, bem como a AGS – entidade responsável pela prestação do serviço de exploração da ETAR de Gramido, estão naturalmente empenhadas em assegurar as melhores condições de funcionamento da referida ETAR e sempre inteiramente disponíveis para colaborar com todas as entidades competentes no esclarecimento destas situações, prestando para esse efeito toda a informação relevante que seja para o efeito solicitada”.
