Em fevereiro de 2020, o VivaCidade noticiava o projeto que iria dar uma nova cara ao centro de Gondomar. Passados dois anos, as primeiras ruas começam a ser intervencionadas. Esta é uma das maiores empreitadas que este executivo camarário liderado por Marco Martins, aprovou.
Recorde-se que, o projeto apresentado, para além da ampliação do edifício da Câmara Municipal, está previsto intervir as seguintes ruas: Rua 25 de abril, Rua 5 de outubro, Praça do Município e a Rua Novais da Cunha.
“Será reformulado toda a rede viária e para este efeito iremos dividir a obra em três fases para não causar transtornos à população”, explica Marco Martins. A empreitada que irá custar quatro milhões de euros aos cofres da Câmara.
Neste momento, encontra-se a decorrer a primeira fase que custou 453 mil euros +IVA, para a segunda fase está previsto 267 mil euros +IVA e para a terceira, o custo será de 390 mil euros + IVA.
Nesta primeira fase está previsto a construção de uma nova rotunda que estará localizada junto às futuras instalações da PSP: “A primeira fase é entre a rotunda da curva da roleta e a Câmara Municipal. Assim está previsto nesta fase intervencionar entre a Via Direcional e a Praça do Município, sendo que passará a ter dois sentidos”.
“Na segunda fase da empreitada iremos requalificar a Rua 25 de abril, junto aos bombeiros, ou seja toda a parte envolvente da Câmara. Quanto à terceira fase do projeto será intervencionada a Rua 5 de outubro”, acrescenta Marco Martins.
Na perspetiva de Marco Martins está previsto que, até ao Verão, a proposta da construção do edifício da Câmara seja levada à Assembleia Municipal.
